team-5

With his recent resignation from the Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad, Troy Pearson looks back on a positive experience as coach of the Panthers. When he took over, it was a very young and very inexperienced program that finished 5-17 his first year. Pearson won more games each year to this season winning 14 games. Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that the group that is returning next season knows what it takes to be successful and have a long run in the postseason.

Pearson: “Our kids know what needs to be done, and I think every kid’s dream is to play in the State Tournament. But our kids know what needs to be done and you have to get a few breaks along that way, but I think our program is ready to take that next step from 14 wins.”

Pearson compiled a 30-35 record in three seasons. Stay tuned to KNIA/KRLS as Knoxville searches for the next boys basketball coach.
