The Indianola girls tennis team has one of their largest teams in program history this season, with over 50 athletes competing for spots, including returning standouts Brynn Bishop, Ceris Askelson, and Zoey Belt among others.

Head coach Nathan Liston said they will use the depth to not only put pressure on other teams by giving him flexibility as far as the lineup, but to help push the athletes every day in practice.

“It gives me a lot of options. We’ve got people chomping at the bit to get that varsity spot. The nice thing about tennis is, if we have one doubles team they play another doubles team and the winner gets the spot. So it’s pretty cut and dry, pretty clear, which is nice.”

The Indians start their season April 1st against Urbandale.
