Just a handful of flower beds in Pella are showing color despite the earlier than predicted peak bloom caused by a warm February. The latest bloom status map from the City of Pella shows that there’s green in nearly every flower bed operated by the City of Pella, but the vast majority of flowers still have some time before they bloom.
In April, Parks Director Chandler Nunnikhoven says they will bring back the online Coffee Time with Tulips segments on Wednesday mornings to provide visual updates and launch its tulip camera in conjunction with Visit Pella soon after.
Nunnikhoven also says the Nightmare tulips are coming back as well — north of the information windmill.
“North America was sent 1,000 nightmare bulbs, and the City of Pella got 362, which is the biggest planting of all of North America.”
