Pella High School students gathered to help fight hunger Thursday afternoon.
As part of the event led by the Pella Student Council, 1,000 meals were packaged for the Pella Community Food Shelf. Junior Katie Meyer, who organized the event, said that it took a lot of people to make the event possible. Meyer added that she was grateful to be able to positively impact the community.
“It looks like it was my project, but it’s the work of so many hands and so many people and I’m just so grateful to be able to give back to a community who has given so much. I mean, Pella High School is such a fun place to go to school, it’s such a fun place to be a part of, and you can’t do that without the community and their support. So, giving back in any way that we can as a whole school to show our appreciation is a really big deal.”
