National Library Week is April 7–13, and the Knoxville Public Library encourages everyone in the community to visit and explore all the library has to offer.
The theme for National Library Week 2024, “Ready, Set, Library!,” promotes the idea that in our always-online world, libraries give us a green light to something truly special: a place to connect with others, learn new skills, and focus on what matters most. Knoxville Public Library Director Roslin Thompson says libraries are a vital part of the community.
“All of the services that we offer to people from all ages, from story time to lifelong learning series, all of the book talks, crafts, movies, all that we have to offer is so vital to the community.”
The Friends of the Knoxville Public Library will have a book sale April 11 – 13 where customers set their own price. First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries of all types across the country each April.
