Pella Christian Boys Soccer Team Downs Albia in Restarted Match

Picking up Monday night’s suspended contest, the Pella Christian boys soccer team improved to 2-1 on the season Friday night with a 6-4 win at Albia.

Theo Hugen gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead Monday night with a goal in the second minute of the game, before the match was called off in the tenth minute due to a lightning delay. Picking things back up at that mark Friday, the score remained 1-0 until Albia scored around the 30th minute to tie the game, and the 1-1 score held into halftime. Hugen pushed Pella Christian back in front with a goal in the 53rd minute, before the Blue Demons re-tied the game. From there, the Eagles got a flurry of goals from Hugen, Camden Parker, and Ethan Van Arendonk to pull back in front 5-2. Albia clawed back to get within one goal late, but Hugen put the game on ice with his fourth goal of the game on a breakaway in the 89th minute.

Pella Christian gets the weekend to rest up, before returning to the pitch on Monday at Des Moines Christian.
