A tornado watch has been issued for Marion and Warren County and the rest of South Central Iowa until 6:00 p.m.
Conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms capable of producing large hail, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes.
Storms are expected to move quickly from Southwest to Northeast from 40 to 50 miles per hour. Additionally, heavy rain that falls on top of precipitation that was received overnight could cause localized flooding.
The KNIA KRLS severe weather action team is on the air for any severe thunderstorm or tornado warning for Marion or Warren County.
