Marion County Development announced the winners of the Red Rock StartUP! Pitch Contest and the Young Entrepreneur Award Thursday night.
Four businesses presented their pitch to three judges during the live contest, before the judges determined scored the presentations. Wild Bramble won first place in the event, Eatery Island took second place, That Pella Organizer was third place, and J & C Play finished in fourth place. Pella High School junior Levi Shetterly won the Young Entrepreneur Award Thursday for his business Shetterly Detailing. Marion County Executive Director Carla Eysink said that in addition to naming this year’s award winners, past winners of the pitch contest were in attendance to provide updates on their businesses.
“We had our two winners from the past two years come back, so that was Kaaswagen and Maiden Holland, so it was fun to hear their stories and their updates for what they’ve been doing and just a fun night to have entrepreneurs across the county network and talk all things entrepreneurship.”
