A busy Monday is on tap for Norwalk spring sports as six out of seven Warrior teams are scheduled to compete.

The girls golf team heads to Veenker Memorial in Ames for the Turk Bowman Invitational at 10:00 a.m. The field includes 18 teams. Norwalk is looking to build on the momentum of Thursday’s first-place finish at the Oskaloosa Invite. They have placed second in three other meets this season.

The Warrior tennis teams will both take on Urbandale. The girls dual starts at 4:00 p.m. at Urbandale’s Walker-Johnston Park. The boys dual begins at 4:15 at Norwalk High School. The Norwalk girls enter the day with a 4-3 record, including two straight wins. The boys have won four in a row to get to 4-1.

The Norwalk girls track and field team will be one of six schools competing at the Winterset Invite at 4:30. The Warriors placed fourth in their previous meet at Thursday’s Indianola Ron Werling Relays.

The girls and boys soccer teams will both play in Des Moines. The Class 2A fifth-ranked Norwalk girls face a tough challenge at 3A second-ranked West Des Moines Valley at 7:30. The Warriors improved to 5-3 with Friday’s 3-0 victory at Ames. The Tigers enter the week at 8-1.

The Norwalk boys will face Des Moines Lincoln in a 7:30 match at the Cownie Soccer Park. The Warriors are 5-5 overall and the Rails are 2-5. Both have won two straight matches, including Norwalk’s 2-1 double-overtime victory at 3A sixth-ranked Newton last week.
