Competing on Eagle Lane for the last time during the regular season, the Pella Christian boys tennis team nearly swept Chariton in an 8-1 victory Tuesday night.
In singles play, Shaun Bos earned an 8-5 victory at the top spot in the lineup, while Aaron Meinders was an 8-3 winner at #2. Rob Schreur and Kirby Van Wyngarden added 8-3 victories at #3 and #4 singles, while Rhett Terpstra picked up an 8-4 win at #5. All three of the Eagles doubles teams mirrored one another on the court, with each winning their match 8-1. Earning the doubles victories were Bos and Meinders at #1, Schreur and Terpstra at #2, and Josiah Vos and Van Wyngarden at #3.
Pella Christian improved to 4-5 overall on the season, and will be back in action this morning at 9 am for the Little Hawkeye Conference Tournament at Norwalk.
