The first-ever Monroe Classic Madness Car Show will be held on the Monroe city square on Saturday, June 8th.
All cars and trucks are welcome to participate in the event, and registration for the event, which begins at 8 am, is $20. Ervan DeVore with the Monroe Classic Madness Car Show, says that all proceeds from the event will benefit the Gathering Place.
“They have everything from graduation parties, bingo, they do the senior meals there, anything that’s community involved happens as the Gathering Place. It’s non-profit, so we’re always trying to think of things and ways to raise money for projects to help keep it up and running. They have some projects that they want to get done, I know something on the board right now is they’re wanting to put a new roof on, so that’s the next big project.”
The first 100 vehicles registered before 10 am will receive one hot breakfast voucher provided by the Gathering Place. In addition to the car show, other activities will include live music, activities for kids, a raffle, a silent auction, and bingo. Awards will also be given to car participating in the event and will include top 25 in show, the Mayor’s Choice, the Fireman’s Choice, the Community Choice, Furthest Traveled, and the King and Queen choice. All of the awards will be made by students at PCM High School.
