The Pella City Council has a resolution on the agenda this week for a proposed partnership with Wonder Spelen for the next phase at the Kiwanis Park Playground.
If approved, the city would fund up to $150,000 for phase three improvements at the all-inclusive play area, which would include installation of an exit ramp on existing play equipment, shade structures by the age two to five area, additional play features, and a buddy bench. Wonder Spelen, a non-profit formed for the first phases of the project, is fundraising for the difference, with the overall cost estimate at $300,000.
If approved by the Pella City Council, the new additions would be completed by the end of this year. The Pella City Council meeting begins at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Pella Public Safety Complex.
