The effort was better last night…but the result was still the same as Knoxville fell to Centerville in girl’s basketball 50-39. The Panthers had the Redette lead down to two with just over two minutes left in the game, but Centerville made timely shots and Knoxville was unable to make stops. Coach Jim Utiermarkt says the little things like not blocking out and too many transition points are hurting his team. Ellie Hawkshead led Knoxville with 14 points while Katie Ayers had nine. With back-to-back games on several occasions this season for the Panthers, Utiermarkt says it is tough to scout and prepare for every team, but the coaching staff makes sure there is a game plan going into every game. Knoxville will now have just a few hours to prepare for Pella Christian. You can hear that game live on AM 1320 KNIA starting with the pregame tonight at six.
