The 21st annual Knoxville High School Panther Scholarship Foundation award ceremony was held Wednesday at the Knoxville Performing Arts Center.
At the awards ceremony, scholarships from both Community and Foundation donors were presented to members of the Knoxville High School Class of 2024. Additionally, the Foundation published the names of the ninety-six members of the KHS graduating classes of 2021, 2022, and 2023 who applied for scholarships, as well as the scholarships they have been awarded and their scholarship donors. Over $150,000 in scholarships were awarded to the members of the classes of 2021, 2022, and 2023 who applied for financial aid as they continue to pursue their post-secondary education.
Scholarships are provided by individuals, families, local businesses and organizations, and alumni groups. Many of the scholarships offered by the Foundation are funded as memorials to individuals honoring their life and achievements. The Knoxville Panther Scholarship Foundation was established in 2004 with the stated purpose of helping Knoxville High School graduates reach their post-secondary education goals. The Foundation provides a scholarship to every student that applies for up to four years of post-secondary education. In twenty-one years the Foundations donors have provided over $1.7 million in financial aid to 1,611 Knoxville High School graduates.
