Central College’s Megan Johnson is the co-winner of the American Rivers Conference Female Athlete of the Week award.

Johnson was also tabbed for the league’s women’s outdoor track performer of the week award, after a memorable showing at the American Rivers Track and Field Championships in Nebraska over the weekend.

A College Sports Communicators Academic All-American honoree, Johnson set a new meet record in winning the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:32.93 Friday. The senior also finished second in the 1,500 meters on Saturday in 4:30.38, before coming back to win the 5,000 meters in 17:09.13. It’s the fifth time Johnson has received conference performer of the week honors and the third time in outdoor track. She was previously cited in indoor track and cross country.

Central finished third in the conference meet. Johnson now prepares for the NCAA Division III Championships May 23rd-25th in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
