Melcher-Dallas used a big second quarter to outlast Twin Cedars in Bluegrass Conference boys basketball Tuesday night 65-51. The Saints increased a 21-17 lead at the end of the first quarter to 15 at the halftime break behind a 14-3 run. Melcher-Dallas would weather a storm from the Sabers during the third quarter including a 15-2 run. The Melcher-Dallas lead would diminish to as many as nine before the Saints recaptured momentum and finished off the win. Robert Bingham led the way for Melcher-Dallas with 23 points including two back to back threes to stem the tide in the third quarter. Kenneth Wadle had 18 for the Saints. Twin Cedars was led by freshman guard Coy More who hit five threes in the game, three of them coming during the third quarter Saber flurry. With the win Melcher-Dallas stands at 3-2 on the season, Twin Cedars falls to 1-4 on the year following the loss.
