The Marion County Conservation Department will host its third and final Building Better Birders and Citizen Scientists Workshops next Saturday. 

The program is geared towards families and is a come and go event. The workshop is designed to create a community with better bird identification skills and promote participants to get involved with local citizen science projects. The program is conducted by Kelly McKay with the BioEco Research and Monitoring Center, with assistance from Mark Roberts with Clinton County Conservation, and Brian Ritter and James Wiebler with the Nahant Marsh Education Center. The programs will have two sessions on May 25th. The first session, which will be held from 7 to 10:30 am, will feature a bird hike around Cordova Park and the Karr Trail. The second session from 11 am to 1 pm, will be the “Warblers of Iowa” presentation and a light lunch will be provided.
