The Pella boys golf team is hoping to play spoiler and move their way to the top three of Class 3A golf at the 2024 state tournament. Pella enters the two-day meet ranked 10th in Class 3A with a scoring average of 164.08 per nine holes. The 3A field is loaded with talented individuals, and 11th ranked in 3A Cade McGinley is also aiming for a top ten finish. MOC Floyd Valley, Washington, and ADM are the top three teams heading into Monday. The first tee off is set for 10:30 a.m. at Veenker Memorial Golf Course in Ames.
Pella’s boys soccer team will have to knock off two ranked teams on their way to the state tournament, and it starts with #10 Newton on the road Monday evening. The Dutch, who finished the regular season at 7-9, knocked off the 11-5 Cardinals in a PK showdown on April 23rd. Opening kick in the Class 3A substate semifinals is slated for 7 p.m. at H.A. Lynn Stadium in Newton.
