A local documentary project aiming to capture the history of Pella recently filmed at the spot where the founder lived during his time in the community.
Monte Goodyk has been working with local historians and organizations to put together a definitive look back at the journey of the Tulip City through a multi-episode project for PellaTV, the City of Pella’s local television product.
Goodyk has worked to dig deep on several aspects of the rich backstory of Pella, with the help of experts Ronald Rietveld and Bruce Boertje, as well as several others in the community.
Multiple times this week, Goodyk was joined by Rietveld for multiple hours of recording, in partnership with Christi Vander Voort, Pastor Brad Bierma, and Jessi Galligan with the Pella Historical Museums. Rietveld is looking forward to sharing a visual representation of the community’s rich history with generations to come. The goal is to have a release of the first episode sometime this summer.
