team-9

The Knoxville Softball Squad is off until Wednesday when the Panthers host Washington for a varsity double header. Knoxville got its season underway last week in impressive fashion with a 9-2 win over Davis County. The Panthers have an entirely new coaching staff with first year Head Coach Chris Peden and assistants Whitney McWilliams and Dougie Branson. While the staff and a few faces on the team are new, the expectations have not changed. Peden wants to contend for a conference title in the South Central, and have a little fun along the way.

Peden: “I want to compete for a conference championship, and I think every coach will say that. I also want them to compete every time out on every pitch like it’s a new pitch and have a little fun, smile, because we have some amazing fans that support us.”

The Panthers play Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this coming week with the nightcap of the Washington double header live on 95.3 KNIA Wednesday night.
