A Habitat for Humanity home dedication ceremony was held Wednesday at 713 North Roche Street in Knoxville.

The recipient of the home is Sam Roberts and she will officially be able to move into the brand new residence with her and her children. Roberts stated in a speech she gave that after going through a hard time in her life she feels blessed to be able to receive this home. Roberts says she prayed for an opportunity like this.

“It’s amazing. I thank God for it. I prayed and he was like just wait, and it happened. I don’t know what to say because I am shocked.”

Habitat for Humanity of Marion County Executive Director Amy Meyer says it’s emotional to be able to see the joy that these homes bring to families.

“This is only my second one, but it’s so emotional. For her to share that three years ago her life was in a very different place and to see how it can grow to this and have a home of her own and a place for her children. We just walked back and saw her kids walk into their rooms and they were so excited, and that just means everything.”

This was one of three home dedications that took place over the past week in Marion County.
