The Pella softball team held tough with a state tournament contender and found victory later in the day at the Lacey Sports Complex Saturday, splitting their day at the Oskaloosa Invitational.

The Dutch fell to #2 in 4A North Polk 6-5, and bounced back to win 7-1 over Cardinal. Ava Curry went 4-for-6 with two doubles between the two games and Katie Scheckel was 3-for-6 with four runs batted in.

Avery Parks held tough against a formidable Comets lineup, giving up five earned runs in six innings; Emma Eekhoff won in the circle in game two, striking out six batters in six innings and giving up just four baserunners.

Pella moves to 4-3 overall and returns home with the baseball team for a varsity doubleheader against Dallas Center-Grimes this evening.
