Local non-profit organizations are partnering together to expand the availability of summer meals available to youth in Pella. The Knoxville Food Youth Initiative and Peace Lutheran Church will be distributing free meals to anyone under the age of 18 on Thursdays, starting June 6th, and continuing through August 1st from 11:30 to 12:30 each week at alley west of the Pella Public Library.

Parents and legal guardians are eligible to pick up meals for children, as are siblings and grandparents – if they are responsible that day for child care. Daycares are not eligible.

Summer meals through the Knoxville Food Youth Initiative in the rest of Marion County will begin on June 3rd on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays:
– Knoxville High School, South Front Drive, 11:30 to 12:30 pm
– Bussey City Hall, Noon to 1pm
– Melcher Dallas Public Library, Noon to 12:30 pm.
– Pleasantville UMC Community Bldg., 11:30 to 12:30 pm
