The Pella softball team knocked off DCG for the first time in six years and came close to a sweep, while the baseball team never found their footing at a pair of home doubleheaders Monday.

Pella’s softball team won 8-7 and fell 6-5 to the #7 ranked Mustangs; the baseball team fell 13-0 and 12-2 in a pair of five inning games.

Emma Eekhoff was the winning pitcher in game one for the softball girls and hit a three-run home run in game two. Lucy Carlson was 4-for-6 with four runs batted in over the twin bill with a double as well. Pella gave up three runs in the top of the sixth of game two and fell in the 8th inning.

The Dutch move to 5-4 overall and 3-2 against conference foes, while the baseball team drops to 7-4 and 3-2 in the league; both are off until they welcome Oskaloosa for single varsity contests Wednesday.
