Practical Farmers of Iowa are holding a “Grazing ‘Round the Farm” event in Knoxville.

This event will be hosted by Ethan and Becca Book at 1707 80th Ave. in rural Knoxville. Since 2006, the Book family has been raising livestock at Crooked Gap Farm and direct-marketing through farmers markets and a CSA. Ethan is currently working to transition 60 newly acquired acres from row crop to permanent pasture, guided by a holistic view of sustainability that includes physical, emotional and financial considerations. 

This event is a way to learn how Ethan is making the transition and a way to hear how he has made use of Natural Resources Conservation Service programs, cover crops and multi-species grazing.
