For the first time this season the Melcher-Dallas Baseball Squad tasted victory while the softball squad let a lead over Seymour slip away late. The baseball Saints defeated Seymour 10-6. The Saints survived committing eight errors but benefitted from five Seymour mistakes. Melcher-Dallas trailed 3-0 early on but plated four runs in the 4th to take a lead the Saints would never let go of. The Saints scored on an error, Austin Remster doubled to score two runs and Evan Schrader singled, scoring a run. Remster ended up leading the Saints going 2/3 with three batted in, he also got the win in relief pitching four innings, sitting down seven Warriors via the strikeout. On the softball field, the Saints built a lead of 5-2 but allowed three runs in the 6th and could not get any across in the 7th. Danni Enfield, Hayden Branson, and Jenna Mickey all had two hits with Mickey getting two RBI. Lotty Nolte took the loss going the distance striking out six. The softball squad will travel to arch rival Twin Cedars tonight.
