The Marion County Historical Society’s annual Pioneer Day is scheduled today at the Marion County Historical Village.

The day will be filled with activities from 8:00 am to 3:15 pm, including a pancake and sausage breakfast, several presenters, Marion County town history, a beef burger lunch, live music, hall of fame induction ceremony, and more. Marion County Historical Society President Dan Carlson encourages the community to come out to the event located near the entrance of Marion County Park on Saturday.

“There is just so much going on that day, and they’re not big things but they’re just a lot of little things. We’re going to have folks out there from surrounding communities. We’re going to have Pella, Harvey, Tracy, Melcher-Dallas, and Pershing represented by people from that community. They’re going to have a table with pictures or artifacts to look at or just answer questions and visit with folks who may have lived in those communities and moved away.”

The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will start at 2:45 pm.
