Head men’s basketball coach Kyle Jones announced the addition of Luke Duckett as the top assistant coach of the Simpson College men’s basketball team.
Duckett was most recently an assistant coach with Jones at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh the last two seasons. The Titans won a regular season conference title and made an Elite Eight appearance in 2023. Prior to UW-Oshkosh, Duckett spent a year as the top assistant coach at Illinois College, helping the Blueboys reach the Midwest Conference Tournament for the first time since 2011. He additionally spent two years as an assistant coach at Carroll University in Waukesha, Wis.
“Our program got better today with the addition of Luke Duckett!” said Jones. “We are extremely excited to have Luke here in Indianola, as he will have a hand in everything our program does. I know Luke to be an incredibly personable, passionate, hard-working, and enthusiastic coach who fits in perfectly with our Storm Basketball Family. Luke will hit the ground running making our student-athletes better on and off the floor.”
Prior to his years coaching collegiately, Duckett served as the Director of Basketball Operations for the Premier Basketball Club Nike EYBL Program in Denver, Colo. While there, he coached the program’s top high school travel teams and served as the program’s director of recruiting, director of camps, and coordinator of their Skills Academy.
