A wild night of racing at the Knoxville Raceway had siblings duel it out for the top spot in the 410 A-Main as Carson McCarl got by brother Austin for his first career 410 win at the raceway heard on KNIA. The 410 feature was marred by a severe crash that took out three cars including Chase Randall, who could not avoid Dusty Zomer and slammed into him at full speed. Randall’s car caught fire but he was able to quickly extricate himself. At the restart following a 20:00 delay, the Brothers McCarl traded the lead back and forth with Carson getting by Austin in the white flag lap. Carson told KNIA/KRLS Sports he knew it was time to go following the restart.

McCarl: “With Austin behind me on that restart I knew it would be choppy on the top. I knew there was nothing to lose and I cranked the wing back and just started driving it.”

Aaron Reutzel took the 360 A-Main getting around Tasker Phillips on lap two and never giving up the lead the rest of the way. In the Pro Sprints it was another last lap pass as Chase Young got by Mike Mayberry on the final lap to win. That came after Mayberry and Matt Allen tangled coming out of turn four which sent Allen into a series of wild flips down the front stretch. He was OK. Mayberry would continue, but damage made it tough for him to race well. It is another two night weekend as the World of Outlaws Nos Energy Drink Sprint Cars roll into town Friday and Saturday.
