As the summer sports season has gone past the halfway points, the Knoxville Boys and Girls of Summer on Panther Drive will have a lot of chances within the South Central Conference to either get revenge or to get back into the conference race. Softball will try to reverse its only loss in the conference this season when the Panthers host Cardinal on Monday. Knoxville was no-hit against the Comets last Wednesday and with three SCC games at home this week, Coach Chris Peden hopes the bats will wake up after having their struggles last week.

Peden: “We know it’s going to be a dog fight and we’re glad to be on home turf a lot next week. We know the bats need to wake up and with these games we know what to do, and hopefully the bats will start waking up and we could have a lot of fun next week.”

Meanwhile, the baseball Panthers will also host Cardinal in a varsity double header on Monday. Knoxville stopped a four game losing streak on Friday by winning over Davis County. Knoxville should have all of its pitching available for Monday night. The Panthers beat Cardinal earlier in the season. Listen for the broadcast of the softball game live on 95.3 KNIA at 7:15.
