The Indianola City Council met in regular session Monday. The council approved a budget amendment regarding capital projects, the appointment of Lindsay Capps to the Indianola Wellness Campus Board of Trustees, a preliminary plat of Quail Meadows 5, and a major site plan application for restaurant and retail sales at 302 North Trail Ridge Avenue. The council also held a public hearing to determine if a nuisance existed for the property at 911 North C Street, which included heavy brush, appliances, and vehicles in a yard. After the hearing, it was determined the property owner had made a significant effort to clean up the property, which was nearing compliance with city code, and asked staff to follow up at a later date.

The council also approved the first reading in a change in the city ordinance clarifying a false fire alarm compared to a malicious fire alarm, and detailing the possible fees for extended malicious fire alarms.
