heatd2-11

Another round of heat will settle in early this week ahead of potential rounds of thunderstorms in south central Iowa. Heat index values will approach and potentially top 100 degrees today and Tuesday in the afternoon and evening hours. Those with outdoor work or activities are reminded to stay hydrated and take frequent breaks. Scattered thunderstorms are possible, especially Tuesday evening. A slight risk of severe weather is in place for that round of precipitation, which may also bring locally heavy rainfall totals by Wednesday morning. The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team is on the air with live coverage of any severe thunderstorm or tornado warning in Marion and Warren Counties.
