Knoxville High School has hired its first ever girls wrestling coach and it is a familiar name to Panther Wrestling fans. Former boys coach Doug Hatch was approved by the Knoxville School Board on Monday to become the first ever Girls Wrestling Coach at Knoxville. For the past two seasons, Knoxville has had girls wrestle at the varsity level, but shared with Pella High. According to Activities Director Ryan Paulsen, Hatch was a state champion wrestler in high school and has over two decades of coaching experience including over 300 dual wins and multiple state champions and qualifiers. The first Knoxville Girls Wrestling season will get underway this winter.
