The Pleasantville baseball team defeated Ogden both games as the softball team split in their respective West Central Conference varsity doubleheaders Tuesday night.
The Trojan baseball team defeated the Bulldogs 1-0 in game one and 9-6 in game two. In game one, Brayden Kennedy was the winning pitcher while Easton Cox picked up the save. The one run of the game for Pleasantville came on Cox single which scored Dylan Aldrich. In game two, Aldrich was the winning pitcher throwing 6 ⅔ innings. Braylon Bingham, JJ Phillips, Brayden Kennedy and Aldrich each had two hits in the second game. After the two wins, the Trojan baseball team improves to 17-9 overall and 12-6 in the conference.
The Trojan softball team won game one 9-7. Lainey Kennedy was the winning pitcher for Pleasantville in game one throwing 98 total pitches. Offensively the Trojans were powered by Madilyn Rowson who had two doubles, and Kyleigh McConnell who had two singles. In game two the Trojans fell to the Bulldogs 5-3. Kennedy pitched in that game as well taking the loss. Coach Alee Phillips said the bats hurt her team in game two as they weren’t able to make solid contact a majority of the game and get runners on. After the split, the Trojan softball team moves to 16-10 overall and 13-6 in the conference.
The Trojan baseball team will be back in action tonight against Chariton while the softball team will next take the field on Thursday against Interstate 35.
