The PCM softball team defeated Nevada at home Wednesday night to be crowned Heart of Iowa Conference champions while the Mustang baseball team won big against the Cubs in conference matchups.

The #8 Mustang softball team defeated the Cubs 6-0 to earn their first conference title since 2014. Rylee Parsons was the winning pitcher for PCM throwing four innings and recording eight strikeouts while Camden Webb picked up the save throwing three innings and recording four strikeouts. Offensively Lilian Humpal had a strong night going 2-3 at the plate with a double and two RBI. The Mustangs improve to 13-1 in the conference to edge out West Marshall for the title. 

The Mustang baseball team shined on both offense and defense in their contest defeating the Cubs 10-0. Jake Wendt pitched 5 ⅔ innings for PCM, only allowing one total hit to pick up the win. On offense, Easton Webb hammered two home runs and reached base on all four plate appearances while Nick Farver, Gabe Hobbs, and Coby DeRaad all had two hit nights as well. Farver also reached base on all four plate appearances and scored three runs in the game. After the win, the Mustang baseball team improves to 9-12 overall and 7-7 in league play.

The PCM softball team will be back in action tonight against BCLUW while the baseball team will next compete on Friday at Sigourney.
