Knoxville Police Sergeant Skyler Verros and Officer Joe Weppler have received a Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) recognition award.

This award was given to Verros and Weppler for leading the fight against drunk/impaired driving and underage drinking and drug use in the community. Sergeant Verros is the K9 officer for the Knoxville Police Department and has led the department in OWI arrests. Weppler is a leader in the department for traffic enforcement and is the department’s only state certified Drug Recognition Expert. 

MADD is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1980 with the primary mission to stop drunk driving and save lives.
