Following another round of rainouts on Tuesday, the Norwalk summer sports teams will try again tonight to play ball on their home diamonds.

The Class 4A third-ranked Warrior softball team will host 5A No. 2 Waukee Northwest in a varsity doubleheader set for 5:30 p.m. Game two of the twin bill can be heard live on 94.3 KNIA and the KNIA3 stream, with pregame coverage starting at approximately 7:15. Norwalk enters the day with an overall record of 26-5 and Northwest is 25-6.

On the adjacent baseball field, Norwalk will host Des Moines Roosevelt in a makeup game at 6:00 p.m. The two teams were rained out on June 25. The Warriors are 13-15 overall while the Roughriders are 25-12, having won 12 of their last 14 contests.

Norwalk’s games on Tuesday were postponed due to heavy afternoon rainfall. The Warrior softball team was scheduled to host Urbandale for a varsity doubleheader and the baseball team was set to host Newman Catholic. No makeup dates have been announced at this time.
