The Pleasantville baseball team defeated Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont on the road Wednesday night as the softball team came up short.
The Trojan baseball team defeated the Rockets 6-0 after a Brayden Kennedy complete game on the mound. The freshman only allowed one hit all night in the contest. Braylon Bingham had a big night offensively going 3-3 at the plate with a home run and a double while JJ Phillips went 2-2 with two RBI. The Pleasantville baseball team finishes the regular season with a 20-10 overall record and will face the winner of Central Lee and Centerville in the Class 2A Substate 6 quarterfinals on Tuesday.
The Trojan softball team fell to the #13 ranked Rockets 13-11 in an offensive slugfest. The Trojans had a hard time pushing runners across on the base paths as they left 15 runners on base throughout the contest. Ryleigh Hardman was the starting pitcher for Pleasantville and then Lainey Kennedy took over in the third inning. Danika Park had three singles on the night for the Trojans with an RBI while Laney Harvey and Kyleigh McConnell both had three RBI in the contest. Coach Alee Phillips said that EBF was a great hitting team and the Trojans had a few errors to give them extra ones, but Coach Phillips says overall it was a great battle. The Pleasantville softball team falls to 17-12 on the season and will face Des Moines East on Saturday for their last regular season game.
