The Pella community celebrated Independence Day festivities on Thursday.
There were several returning favorites scheduled throughout the day, including swimming at the Pella Aquatic Center, city tours by Pella Historical Museums and Pella Preservation Trust, food stands near central park, arts and crafts and inflatables downtown, and fishing at Caldwell Park. The annual parade wrapped around Franklin Street and traveled around the square down to Main Street south, followed by the City Band performance on the Tulip Toren. The Pella Farmers Market was also held as normal.
The evening concluded with fireworks at Central College. The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio took part in the annual parade.
