It has been a rough summer for the Melcher-Dallas Baseball Squad, but the class 1A District offers another shot at success for the Saints as they will take on North Mahaska tonight in first round action at Twin Cedars. The Saints come in with a 4-15 record. While the Saints team batting is not a great number, there are a couple of individuals who have had solid summers. Austin Remster is hitting .265 with 13 hits and leads the team with 11 walks. Reece Chiabotta is hitting .224 with 11 hits on the season. On the mound, Mason DeJong had 26 innings pitched and leads the team with 45 strikeouts. The Saints will be facing a North Mahaska squad that is 10-14 on the season and finished 5th in the South Iowa Cedar League. Game time is set for 5:00 and is a part of a double header with Twin Cedars and Seymour playing the 2nd game. The two winners come back on Tuesday and face off in the district semi-final.
