On Senior Night in Norwalk, the Warrior baseball team was defeated 12-0 in six innings by ADM. Tuesday’s regular-season finale was heard live on 94.3 KNIA.

The highlight for Norwalk came prior to the game when the team’s 10 seniors were recognized on the field with their parents. Head coach Chad Wiedmann’s starting lineup consisted entirely of seniors CJ Davis, Caleb Ochanpaugh, Aidan Harder, Payton Nichols, Mason Vogel, Josh Pinns, Jake Ferguson, Dawson King, Holdyn Havick and Ben Peterson.

ADM plated four runs in the top of the first and never looked back. The Tigers scored at least two runs in four different innings, totaling 12 hits and taking advantage of five walks, one hit batsman and four Warriors errors. Hudson Lewerke paced the Tiger attack, going 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI.

Norwalk did not have a base runner until Nichols led off the fifth with an infield single. Havick and Davis each drew a walk in the seventh. Pinns, Vogel and Cole Wardlow all pitched for the Warriors, who finished the regular season with a 13-18 overall record. ADM improved to 15-14.

The Warriors will now turn their attention to postseason play, which begins Friday with a Class 4A first round Substate game at Ottumwa. First pitch is set for 7:00 p.m. and the game will be streamed live on kniakrls.com (KNIA3). Pregame coverage will begin at 6:50.
