The PCM softball team defeated the Greene County Rams in the Class 3A Region 2 quarterfinals Thursday night.
The #8 ranked Mustangs defeated the Rams 10-2 at home to advance in the postseason. PCM jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning and added two runs in the second, three in the fifth, and two in the sixth to keep the game out of reach. Rylee Parsons was the winning pitcher for PCM, throwing three innings and giving up two hits while Camden Webb picked up another save, throwing four innings. Addison Steenhoek and Libby Winters had solid night’s offensively for the Mustangs recording two hits, a double, and two RBI a piece.
Steenhoek said she was happy with the win tonight and her team is taking the postseason one game at a time.
“I think coming into this game we were all super humble. We were just excited to get the game going and get into postseason. We’re just taking one game at a time. Survive and advance is what they always say. We’re just going to enjoy every minute of it.”
The Mustangs improve to 22-4 overall and will now take on Clarke in a regional semifinal matchup at home on Saturday night. Hear more from Steenhoek and teammate Tori Lindsay on today’s Lely Radio Sports Page.
