Dylan Mick is excited to serve on the Knoxville School after securing a win in the special election held on Tuesday.
Mick will be officially sworn in at the next Knoxville School Board meeting on July 29th. Mick released a social media statement after the win which said “I’m over the moon with gratitude for each one of you who put up a yard sign, cast your vote, and rallied your friends and family to support me. I’m truly humbled by your trust. I’m eager to serve our kids, collaborate with our fantastic school district staff and administration, and build bridges between the district and our amazing community.” Mick received 660 votes to defeat Tony Rider who had 422. Mick tells KNIA/KRLS that he is grateful for the support he received in this election..
“I’m very humbled and thankful for our community and the people that supported me and also thankful for the 400 plus people that voted for Tony Rider. I’m here to serve them as well and so I hope to serve to the best of my abilities and put the kids first. I just want to say thank you to everyone who took the time to vote.”
The special election saw 13.28% voter turnout.
