Just one senior was on the Knoxville Baseball roster this season. Dakota Ramsey, an everyday player, who mostly played at 1st base was the only player who will depart the program due to graduation. Ramsey not only was a leader on the field as he had one of the highest batting averages with a 380 plus, had 27 hits on the season and hit his first two home runs of his career, one was a grand slam. Coach Turner Devore tells KNIA/KRLS Sports Ramsey’s influence extends beyond the fence.

Devore: “All of us players, coaches, manager were honored to have Dakota on our team. I told the kids there’s not many kids who give us their summer to play and then gets up at 5:00am to go to work, then come out to the park and play and does it over and over again.”

Ramsey had a team leading 23 RBI and only struck out six times. Knoxville finished up in the first round of the class 3A Substate with a 16-18 record.
