The Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge is hosting their annual free Bison Day family event next week.
During the celebration of bison, everyone is invited to view the bison herd including calves, learn about the tallgrass prairie heritage at the refuge, and participate in bison and prairie themed activities. Activities during the event will include crafts, bison coloring pages, viewing a live hawk and owl display, playing a ring toss game, group photos in the bison photo booth area, and a bison trivia themed self-guided walk on the 1/2 mile Overlook Loop Trail.
The free Bison Day family event at the Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge will be held from 9 am to 2 pm on Saturday, August 3rd. For more information about the program, contact the refuge at nancy_corona@fws.gov or by calling 515-994-3400.
