A retirement celebration will be held today for Marion County Conservation Director Steve Edwards.
The open house event will be held at Marion County Public Health from 2:00-4:00 pm. Community members are invited to come to the event honoring Edwards, who has served as the county’s Conservation Director for the last 44 years. Today marks Edwards’ final day of work in the role, with his son Cale taking over as the director beginning Monday. Steve says he has been blessed to have such a good staff during his time with the department.
“I can’t thank the staff that I’ve had, and the Marion County Conservation Board members that I’ve had, and the Board of Supervisors that I’ve had over the years for all their support. You’re as good as your staff is and I’ve been blessed to have a really good staff. To have Cale come down and take over is incredibly exciting and we’re looking forward to having him coming, and I know he is really looking forward to being here.”
The event will be held in the training room at Marion County Public Health.
