Counting down the top 10 moments of the 2023-24 school year for Simpson College with #9.

The growing Simpson College women’s wrestling team made big strides in year two of the program, which included Emaline Hicks winning three matches at the NCWWC National Championships.

Simpson College was the host site of the NCWWC Region V Championships, which included National Champion University of Iowa, where Hicks went 2-2 and finished fourth, making her the second national qualifier in program history after Jenna Joseph qualified in the program’s inaugural season. Hicks became the first wrestler in program history to win a match at nationals with a 10-0 technical fall in the first round, before falling in the next round. Hicks then won two matches in consolation.
