An active season of severe weather continued across the region this morning. Multiple warnings impacted Marion and Warren Counties for strong wind gusts that knocked out power to some in the region, with recorded wind gusts just outside of Marion and Warren Counties over 60 MPH. Extensive tree damage was reported by a listener in Harvey.

Another round of heavy rain impacted the area, with an additional 1/2″ to inch locally falling on top of some locations that received 2-4″ of precipitation overnight Sunday. The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team was on in the early morning.

Potentially dangerous heat is expected to continue through Wednesday evening, with heat index values likely to top 105 degrees, and some locations exceeding 110, especially on Wednesday. Additional rounds of scattered thunderstorms are also likely overnight over the next few days, some of which could be severe, according to the National Weather Service.
