The Knoxville Fire Department has added a new member to their Crisis K9 team.
The department has added Sally, who is a K9 in training. Sally is a half sister to current Crisis K9 Max, who also works for the department, and comes from Crisis Canines of the Midlands. Over the next few months her and her handler will be attending training to become a Crisis K9. The mission of Crisis Canines is to facilitate and coordinate the implementation of Crisis Response Therapy Dog Teams in first responder agencies, so that these teams may provide Animal Assisted Crisis Response within their communities to support the mental health of individuals affected by and responding to crises and disasters.
