Despite the difficulties provided by the near-constant severe weather and heavy winds, the volunteers, staff, balloon pilots, and chase crews have been working tirelessly every day to try and keep the National Balloon Classic ready to go when conditions allow. National Balloon Classic Board Member Pritesh Patel tells KNIA News there has been a herculean effort to get the field ready to go despite the precipitation, and there is still plenty of entertainment to go around.
“You can bring a chair if you like, otherwise we have chairs for rental. There are some awesome food vendors, I’ve been eating good despite the balloons not flying. There is a kids zone for kids to go on the train and use the inflatables, and you can meet some pilots and have a good time with the family so we hope everyone takes the chance to come out.”
